Our world has seen change, uncertainty, and unpredictability become the norm. Organizations are challenged to adapt quickly to changing conditions to stay/become competitive. Adaptive strategy is the business imperative.
A second element of success in times of high uncertainty are business ecosystems. The most valuable firms set the pace and the benchmark for all others to follow. Increasing their resilience and achieving above-average returns are the obvious goals of these successful alliances of companies, suppliers, and customers.
But how do business ecosystems work? Which opportunities and risks do they offer? Which impact do they have on strategy work? These and other questions will be answered during our conference. Discover how companies with adaptive strategy and digital support succeed in adapting to the changing conditions in the ecosystem, aligning their business strategy accordingly to remain successful in the long term.

Times are extremely challenging. The VUCA world is a reality and black swan events (pandemic, Ukraine war, energy cost rise, China crisis, climate change, etc.) arrive with increasing speed and intend to stay. That is why short-term oriented measures like cost containment are no sustainable, promising solution.
The only way for companies to successfully maneuver in these rough waters is through state-of-the-technology that helps to implement the adaptive strategy concept in the end-to-end strategy development and execution processes throughout the company. Martin Erharter, Chief Commercial Officer (CCO), will show in his presentation how Evolutionizer in their Enterprise Strategy Suite (ESS) has developed a software solution for companies to successfully tackle this challenge.

It is widely acknowledged that business ecosystems offer great potential. However, as research by the BCG Henderson Institute has shown, they can also improve a company’s resilience in times of uncertainty and economic turmoil. In his presentation, Prof. Dr. Pidun will explain how business ecosystems work, what their benefits and challenges are, how they change the rules of strategy, and what it takes for incumbent firms to be successful as ecosystem players.
Dr. Ulrich Pidun is an expert in corporate development and a European topic leader for corporate strategy, with more than 25 years of experience in this field. As a fellow at the BCG Henderson Institute, Ulrich investigates business ecosystems with a focus on ecosystem design, governance, and strategies. In addition to his work at BCG, Ulrich Pidun serves as a professor for corporate strategy at the Technical University of Berlin, Germany.
